LG has run webOS across its smart TV lineup for years, and it's one of the three platforms Tivi, a universal TV remote app for iPhone from Nefarius Apps, drives end to end — alongside Samsung Tizen and Android TV / Google TV. Pairing is a one-time PIN shown on the TV screen rather than a plastic-remote prompt, and once it's accepted the TV remembers the phone and stops asking.
The one habit worth building: give an LG longer to appear in a scan than you'd give a Samsung. LG doesn't advertise itself on the network the same instant way Samsung does, so it typically takes longer to show up in the device list — a timing quirk, not a sign that something's broken.
