Questions, answered.
Which TVs does Tivi work with?
Samsung (Tizen), LG webOS, Android TV and Google TV, Google Cast and Chromecast devices, Roku, and generic DLNA sets. Apple's privacy rules stop third-party apps from controlling AirPlay-only devices such as the Apple TV, so those are discovered but not controllable.
Do I need to be on the same Wi-Fi as the TV?
Yes. Tivi talks to your TV directly over the local network, which is what keeps it fast and private. Nothing is routed through a server.
Why does Tivi ask for local network access?
It uses Bonjour to discover devices on your network. Without that permission iOS hides every TV from the app, and the device list stays empty.
My TV is asking for a code — what now?
Android TV and LG webOS sets pair on first connection. Type the code shown on the TV into Tivi, or accept the request on screen. The pairing is remembered for next time.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no profile. Install the app, allow local network access, and start controlling.
