Who makes Tivi
Tivi is built by Nefarius Apps, an independent app studio. It wrote the iOS app itself — the discovery code, the Samsung, LG and Android TV protocol implementations, and the remote — which is where everything published on this blog comes from.
Nefarius Apps builds and ships its own iOS apps rather than working to order. Tivi is a native SwiftUI iPhone app that finds TVs on your Wi-Fi and controls them directly over the local network, with no account and no server in between.
The guides on this site are written from the implementation rather than from other people's articles. When one of them explains why an LG takes longer to appear than a Samsung, or what the iOS Local Network permission actually gates, that is a description of code that had to be written to make Tivi work — not a summary of someone else's summary.
The same applies to what Tivi cannot do. The capability table on the home page is kept honest against the shipping app, because a remote app that overstates itself is the reason people distrust the whole category.

The other app Nefarius Apps ships. It defines over 18,000 psychology and psychotherapy terms in English and German, and then does the part a reference book cannot: it turns the terms you save into drills, so a term you look up once is a term you still have a week later.
